The Valley Wellness Treatment Philosophy

Most treatment facilities treat alcohol and drug addiction the same way with a focus on the 12- step program.

While this program has helped thousands of people over the years, it was originally created for alcoholism back in 1935, and obviously treatment and how we diagnose has changed a lot since then.

This also makes it unsuitable for substance abuse and mental
health issues.

Step 1:

Medical Detoxification (Detox) is the first step in most drug treatment facilities.

The patient starts a supervised withdrawal process to safely remove the drugs from their system.

This can be done with medications or without depending on the severity and length of abuse by the patient.

Step 2:

The next step is the rehabilitation similar to rewiring the brain. This includes:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Helps identify and change negative thought patterns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – Focuses on emotional regulation and coping strategies.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) – Helps build motivation for change.
  • Contingency Management (CM) – Uses rewards for positive behaviors.

Our highly trained psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, and hypnotherapists are experts in these treatments and have decades of combined experience in helping people with these issues.

Step 3:

Sober living.

Patients are encouraged to spend at least 30 days following rehabilitation treatment at a sober living facility.

Valley Wellness plans to operate one located just 50 minutes away from our main facility.

This beautiful five bedroom house is staffed by just a chef and maid and allows the patient to get back into the normal routines of life without the need for drugs or alcohol.

Patients can often go back to working with remote jobs while here or choose to cook and clean for themselves as they prepare to go back to their homes.

Therapy either in person or via tele-health is continued here and patients can also seek local meetings to attend.
